Confusion regarding raid at Vishal's office

Last evening (23rd October) witnessed a flurry of activities in Nadigar Sangam President and actor Vishal’s office, Vishal Film Factory in Vadapalani, Chennai. While the initial media reports claimed that it was the Income Tax raid at the Samar actor’s office premises, later reports stated that it was the Goods and Services Tax intelligence wing which had conducted the investigation.

Later on, a statement issued by the Chennai intelligence wing of GST in the name of joint director PVK Rajasekar said no search operations had been conducted in the office. "News circulating about our officials entering the office is wrong," it said.

Vishal told the media that he came to know that TDS officials visited his premises as he was shooting and that there was no one in his office then. Vishal's publicist Johnson said, "It was a routine assessment conducted by the TDS wing. An official named Venkatraman visited Vishal's office"
