Dangal girl Sanya Malhotra to romance Nawazuddin Siddiqui in her next film

After her ‘Dangal’ co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh bagged a prestigious project like ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, all eyes were on Sanya Malhotra and everyone was waiting for this talented young girl to pick up her next film.

And now it is reported that, Sanya, who played Babita Kumari in ‘Dangal’, has finally found her next film. Apparently, she has been roped in as a leading lady opposite none other than the powerhouse of talent - Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Ritesh Batra’s upcoming film, tentatively titled - ‘Photograph.’

Ritesh Batra who had earlier worked with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in his much-acclaimed film – ‘The Lunchbox’, confirmed the news to a daily, he said, “Set in Mumbai, it’s a love story of sorts between a poor photographer and his muse. It’ll have an ensemble cast since there are 44 parts in it. There will be a lot of exciting actors but Nawaz and Sanya are the two leads.”

Talking about the unique casting, Ritesh further added, “Nawaz is someone I worked with before, and he has been attached to the project since I wrote the first draft of the film. As for the girl’s part, we auditioned a lot of people, and that’s how Sanya was selected, through an intense process of auditioning.”

The film will go on floors later this year.
