Director Bala is moved by Varalakshmi's performance

Director Bala after his award winning work in Paradesi is shooting Thara Thappattai which is said to be about the various performing arts of Tamil Nadu. This film has Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Sasikumar as leads where Chezhian has handled camera and Ilayaraja has given his music which is incidentally hi 1000th film.

Sources reveal that there was a very important scene in the film that was canned recently which required heroine Varalakshmi to receive severe beating and kicking from an actor. The scene was completed with the actress giving her best. But in the process, she had broken her collar bones but she did not mind this and continued shooting.

The same scene had to be redone again on the next day and the actress once again received deadly blows and the shot was perfected. Director Bala was not aware of her collar bone breaking incident and when he came to know, he was in tears and in motivation and encouragement of the young girl’s work, he had apparently given an expensive gold chain and a watch.
