Distributors to stage 'begging' protests for Lingaa loss

Feb 16, 2015 JB

Superstar’s Lingaa hit the screens amidst huge expectations on December 12th 2014 but was met with a lukewarm response. The film as per trade appears to be a loss especially for distributors. They have been constantly in talks with producer Rockline Venkatesh to compensate for their losses but in vain.

Therefore, film distributors and theatre owners have threatened to stage a ‘begging’ protest if superstar Rajinikanth failed to compensate for the losses they suffered due to screening of Lingaa.

A distributor from Trichy says, “We have suffered huge losses and our repeated attempts to get a refund failed. We have planned the mega begging protest next week to highlight the inconsiderate attitude of the actor to the masses”. The protest would begin near the actor's house and a politician has been roped in to start the agitation. The actor refunded money after his previous films Baba and Kuselan bombed at the box office.
