Los Angeles, Oct 1 (IANS) Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones says she is thrilled that her estranged husband, actor Michael Douglas, won an award at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony.

Zeta-Jones, 44, was away in China when Douglas was announced the winner of the best actor award for his portrayal of Liberace in the mini-series "Behind the Candelabra".

She attended a gala in China where she also reportedly celebrated her 44th birthday Sep 25.

However, she has now publicly spoken out to congratulate Douglas on his career achievement.

"I'm thrilled for him. It was wonderful - so well deserved," accesshollywood.com quoted the "The Mask of Zorro" actress as saying.

The couple have parted ways but Douglas has continued to wear his wedding ring and has been downplaying the marriage trouble as a temporary situation.

He had even paid tribute to Zeta-Jones in his Emmy acceptance speech.

"I want to thank my wife Catherine for her support," he said.

The couple had exchanged vows in 2000.
