Dr Manu, a passionate lyricist

Homoeopathy is my profession, song writing is my passion, says Dr Manu Manjith, a blooming lyricist who has penned the beautiful song “Mandaarame chella chenthamare…” in the movie ‘Om Santhi Osana’. Malayalees will always remember this song for its simple and sportive language in expressing love in a charming way.

Dr Manu has first written the lyrics for ‘Koothara’, but ‘Om Santhi Osana’ was released before ‘Koothara’. Before starting with film songs, Manu has written a song – “Immini valiya Kozhikode…” which sings about the history and importance of Kozhikode.

About his song in ‘Om Santhi Osana’ Manu said that he is so elated to be part of the movie. The film has a fun element all through which can be seen in the lyrics of “Mandaarame…” too. He added that he is so happy that the song has been used as BGM in various parts of the movie.

Manu has also written a song for Lal Jose’s ‘Vikramadityan’. There are six songs in this movie written by six lyricists – Rafeeq Ahmed, Engandiyoor Chandrasekharan, Anil Panachooran, Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma, Santhosh Varma, and Dr Manu Manjith.

Manu writes two songs for Mithun Manuel Thomas’ first directorial venture ‘Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu’. He will also pen lines for tracks used for the introduction of each character in this movie.

Dr Manu, who prefers his profession and passion to go hand in hand, may hopefully gift us with more and more charming and melodious songs.
