Dulquer Salmaan to play Gemini Ganesan in Savitri

Savitri, the legendary actress who was known for her cute innocent looks and powerful performance, had a troubled personal life. She was the third wife of actor Gemini Ganesan. Her story is being made as a biopic in a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu.

In Tamil, the film is titled as Nadigayar Thilakam Savitri and in Telugu it is called Mahanati. Keerthy Suresh is essaying the role of Savitri while Samantha will be seen as a journalist through whose perspective the film will move forward.

Now, the latest addition to this project is Dulquer Salmaan who is reported to be portraying the role of Gemini Ganesan. Dulquer is an apt choice. Nag Ashwin directs this film and the remaining cast members who would be doing the role of Jamuna, Nageswara Rao, Ranga Rao and other would soon be announced.
