Jul 23, 2014 NR

Dulquer Salman sings promo song for his father’s festival release ’Manglish’. It was director Salaam Bappu’s idea to make Dulquer sing the song. The song is composed by Gopi Sunder.

The lines beginning "Njanga Ponenetta" are written by Santhosh Varma. The song is rendered in the typical Kochi-Mattancherry slang.

Dulquer wrote on his Facebook page, Just sang a promo song for 'Manglish' ! Many thanks to Gopi Sundar for always correcting my faults and encouraging my amateur attempts at singing ! Special thanks to Director Salaam Bapu for considering me for such a fun song ! Above all, all thanks to my Vappichi, my hero, for giving me everything. All the best Team Manglish !!

Gopi Sunder who is all praise for Dulquer Salman said, "He is like a professional singer and make sure he gives his best. His voice has a lot of freshness.”

He has made his debut as a playback singer by crooning the peppy number “Johny mone Johny…” in the hit movie ‘ABCD’.

This Eid is so special to both the father and son as the movies of both of them are releasing this weekend. Dulquer’s ‘Vikramadityan’ will hit theatres on this Friday and Mammootty’s ‘Manglish’ on Sunday, 27th July.
