Beyonce excited to be part of 'Epic'

Los Angeles, March 28 (IANS) Singer-actress Beyonce Knowles, who has lent her voice to the queen's character in new animated film "Epic", says she always wanted to be a part of the project.


Knowles was excited to join the cast when she learned about her majestic character.


"I've always wanted to be a queen. Once I learned about my character, Queen Tara, I just had to be part of it," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Knowles as saying.


The animated film also features the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz and Steven Tyler. The film revolves around a young girl, Mary Katherine who finds herself caught up in a forest adventure after her father goes missing.


"The film is about how everything in our life connects. Everything in this movie is big, the characters, the action. This is one time where the film really lives up to its title," she added.


The "Halo" hitmaker's previous film credits include "Dreamgirls", "Cadillac Records" and her self-directed HBO documentary "Life is But a Dream".


The animated film is directed by Wedge for Fox Animation, which is also behind the "Ice Age" film series.
