Los Angeles, Nov 30 (IANS) In upcoming movie "Zero Dark Thirty", Jessica Chastian plays the role of a woman who gives priority to work over family life. The actress says she could relate to the character as she has faced a similar situation in real life.

Chastian, 35, plays the role of Maya, an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

"When I first read the script, I was blown away by this woman. It is something I still get very emotional about. What happens when you live for this one goal? And then you achieve it," GQ magazine quoted Chastian as saying.

The actress says she misses her friends and family a lot.

"I can relate to those aspects of being in the CIA. For the last three years, my life has been work and only work. I do miss my family. I do feel cut off from my friends," the actress said.

"Listen, I know being in the CIA is a lot more important than being an actress, but I do feel some empathy with the loneliness: you give away yourself," she added.

Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, "Zero Dark Thirty" is set to release Dec 19.
