Lawrence to be honoured at film fest

Los Angeles, Nov 29 (IANS) Actress Jennifer Lawrence will receive the outstanding performer of the year award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF), for her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook".

The award ceremony is expected to take place Jan 26, 2013 at Arlington Theatre in California, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"Ms.Lawrence impressed us earlier this year in 'The Hunger Games', but has now left us moonstruck with her career-defining performance in 'Silver Linings Playbook'. Naming her our Outstanding Performer of the Year is an understatement," said Roger Durlin, executive director of SBIFF.

The award has been previously bestowed upon actors like Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Colin Firth, James Franco, Viola Davis, Kate Winslet and Charlize Theron.
