Nomination for 'The Impossible' special: Naomi Watts

Los Angeles, Dec 14 (IANS) Actress Naomi Watts is on cloud nine after receiving her first Golden Globe nomination for "The Impossible". She has been nominated in the best actress category.


Watts plays the role of a real-life Tsunami survivor in the film and she got to know about the nomination Thursday night, when the nominations were announced in Los Angeles. Incidentally, it was also her son, Sammy's birthday.


"It's my son's birthday today (Thursday) and it proved to be lucky for me. I am happy that I got this nomination for 'The Impossible' because it's a really special movie for my family," Watts said in a statement.


"The Impossible" is a true story of a Spanish family, who had just begun started enjoying their winter vacation in Thailand when an unexpected tsunami threatened to destroy the entire region Dec 26, 2004.
