Film industry strike called off
May 22, 2017 JBVishal, the President of Producer Council had announced that the industry will go for a strike from 30th May as their demands have not been met with by the state and the central government. But the film industry was divided on this and the Theatre Owners Association and Distributors Association had backed out of the strike.
However, Vishal changed his stance and announced last evening that he is calling off the strike after he had a meeting with the Tamil Film Producer Council members.
RK Selvamani, President of FEFSI is said to be happy that this strike proposed for May 30th has been called off. However, he had stated that if such a strike must happen in the future, for the betterment and change, all the film associations should participate in it and stay united to achieve the objectives.
