Film Technician's Union fast

Technicians belonging to South Indian Films and TV Outdoor Union have put forth their demand to reunite themselves with FEFSI. This was their prime agenda when they held a fasting strike in Chennai yesterday, the 20th September.

It has to be recalled that FEFSI and the Producer Council had a tussle of sorts regarding wages and FEFSI had declared a strike which had virtually brought the Tamil film industry to a halt. Later on, after talks with the two bodies ended in amicable result, the strike was withdrawn, but the Technicians Union was removed by FEFSI from its association.

Now the Technicians Union has put forth their demands and was holding a fast. In addition to their demand of reuniting with FEFSI, the Union has also put forth a couple of other demands. The fast was attended by politician Thirumavalavan, Ravichandran, President of Cine and TV Outdoor Technician’s Union, General Secretary Dhanapal and others.
