Filmmaker Lenin Rajendran is no more

Filmmaker and Chairman of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation, Lenin Rajendran, died on Monday night at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 67.


The veteran director was under treatment for liver ailments at Apollo Hospital, Chennai, for the past three weeks.


He began his film career as an assistant to director PA Backer. Lenin made his debut with the film ‘Venal’ in 1982. His last film was ‘Edavappathy’ (2016).


The director’s much-acclaimed films include ‘Swathi Thirunal’, ‘Kulam’, ‘Daivathinte Vikrithikal’, ‘Mazha’, ‘Meenamaasathile Sooryan’, and ‘Makaramanju’. He has won five Kerala state film awards. Click the Movie button below for more info:
