Four films for Christmas 2014

Although Fridays are the usual release days for Tamil films, there are occasions when the films get released on other festive days too. Christmas 2014 was one such occasion. The day witnessed the release of four films and if reviews are to be trusted, all four of them are said to be decent entertainers. The films that hit the screens are Kayal, Meaghamann, Kappal and Vellakaara Durai.

Out of these, Kayal directed by Prabhu Solomon features Anandhi and newcomer Chandran in a story that is set at the backdrop of Tsunami. The film has mellifluous tracks of Imman and beautiful visuals of Mahendran. Meaghamann directed by Magizh Thirumeni is an action flick centering around drug business that has Arya, Hansika and seven villains. Thaman scores music in this action drama.

Kappal, a project that caught everyone’s attention, thanks to director Shankar distributing the project and saying a lot of good words, has Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa. This comedy entertainer has also Karunakaran, VTV Ganesh among others. Vellakaara Durai directed by Ezhil is a family drama that has Vikram Prabhu and Sri Divya in lead roles.
