After the majestic trailer of ‘Padmavati’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali introduced us to the first song from the film today, and it has just made our jaws drop and how.

The song in question is the Ghoomar song, which sees Deepika Padukone, who plays Rani Padmavati in the film, dance to the traditional Rajashthani folk dance form – ghoomar. Deepika is seen twirling in circle with diyas in her hands and the visual is simply spectacular.

However, it definitely was not an easy task for Deepika to perfect the traditional dance form, which involves twirling in circles along with coordinating perfect hand and foot movements. Reportedly, Deepika has twirled over 66 times during the shooting of the song, wearing her elaborate costume and heavy jewellery.

And the actress said that it was the most difficult yet most fulfilling song sequences she has ever done. Deepika took to Twitter and wrote, “The 'Ghoomar' song has to be one of the most difficult yet most fulfilling song sequences I have ever shot for!”

Apparently, Deepika used to practice three hours a day before the shooting of the film to perfect her moves for this song.

The film also features Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as her husband Rawal Ratan Singh.
