Here's why Arjun Rampal's Daddy got postponed

Arjun Rampal’s ‘Daddy’, without a question, is one of the most-awaited films of the year. The political drama based on gangster-turned-politician – Arun Gawli, has garnered immense amount of curiosity ever since the trailer of the film was released.

But looks like the audience has to wait a little more to see this film as the release date of the film has been pushed forward by two months. The Arjun Rampal starrer was initially supposed to release on July 21, however, now the film will release on September 8 because of a special request made by Arun Gawli’s daughter – Geeta Gawli.

Geeta Gawli met Arjun and requested him to push the release of the film as she is hoping that Arun Gawli would get a parole soon and he may be able to come out and discuss the film with the audience.

“I am really excited to show the film to everyone and I felt it would be special and auspicious to have the film released when my daddy is out on parole. I am really hoping that he gets parole. I want the world to see the film and know the real daddy who has been our pillar of strength for so many years. I wanted them to release the film in September instead,” Geeta said in a press statement.

She also added, “To see ‘Daddy’ in person and onscreen is very different. We cannot wait for the movie and are overwhelmed by the trailer. Arjun and Ashim have shown every aspect of my father’s life in this movie. We have no words to describe what we are going through. Over the last 3 years, Arjun has really understood my father and I really respect that he has kept his feelings in mind and made this movie while staying true to the ups and downs that he has endured in his life.”

Co-written and directed by Ashim Ahluwalia, the film will now hit the screens in September.
