I go by good scripts, not by what others do: Kareena
Sep 25, 2014 NRKareena Kapoor, who has done her share of female-centric dramas, says she wouldn't accept a biopic or a woman-oriented script just because others are doing it.
Current year has witnessed an unprecedented number of women-centric films. Kangana Ranaut's "Queen", Alia Bhatt's road movie "Highway", Rani Mukerji's "Mardaani", boxing champ Mary Kom's biopic starring Priyanka Chopra in the title role - they all did well at the box office.
When asked about the trend, Kareena said, "I have done female-centric films. I did 'Chameli' at 22, then 'Jab We Met' and then 'Heroine'."
"So, I would only do one if I really like the script and not just because everyone is doing it. That is not how I work", the 34-year-old said.
Kareena was recently seen in Rohit Shetty's commercial hit "Singham Returns", and her upcoming films include "Happy Ending" with husband Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Gabbar" opposite Akshay Kumar.
