If not in Gustakhiyan, Irrfan will bring shades of Sahir Ludhianvi in his other roles

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus – ‘Padmavati’ is currently in the limelight, his future project – ‘Gustakhiyan’, a biopic based on famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi has also grabbed as much attention.

After names like Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan and others were considered for the titular role, its rumoured that Irrfan will finally be playing the lead role. However, no official announcement has come from them.

But when Irrfan, who is a huge fan of Ludhianvi’s work was questioned about it during the promotions of his forthcoming film ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’, he said, “If it’s in my destiny I will play him in the biopic. If I don’t get the chance, I will bring shades of Sahir into my other roles.”

Talking about the famous poet, Irrfan said, “I'm always looking for opportunities and excuses to recite those lines that resonate with the love Sahir believed in, which I believe in.”

Well, if there is one person who can truly do justice to this role, it has to be Irrfan.
