Interim stay for the release of I

When the makers of the film I are busy in the promotional activities of their film, here comes the blow. High Court of Madras has granted an interim injunction that prevents the release of the film for this Pongal 2015 in India and abroad.


This is in response to an application by Picture House Media Limited, Chetpet, Chennai which alleged that the production house Aascar Films had borrowed 15 crores in 2013 from them towards the making of the film. Six agreements had been signed with respect to this mentioning that the film will not be released until the money is returned. But apparently Aascar films has not returned the money and owe 17 crores and 50 lakhs that include the interest to the applicant. Until the amount is returned, the applicant sought that the film should not be released in India as well as overseas.


While passing the interim order that restrained the release of I in India and abroad till the 30th January, Justice R Mahadevan also advised the parties to find a solution through arbitration. Let us hope the issue is resolved amicably and the audience get to see the much awaited film. Click the Movie button below for more info:
