Jabardasth Comedian Venu Arrested

Comedian Venu who rose to fame with Prabhas' Munna movie as Tillu became very popular in recent times with Jabardasth show aired on ETV. However he recently ran in to controversy after Goud community members attacked him at the film chamber alleging that he insulted their community in one of the skits performed in the show. Venu publicly apologized for it but they did not relent.

Goud community representatives filed a complaint with OU Police in the same issue. The comedy actor was detained by the police. He will be further produced in the court today. Several TV and Film Artists including Naga Babu and Roja who were the judges of the show expressed their support to Venu after the attack.

Even Cinematography Minister of Telangana, Talasani Srinivas Yadav found fault with those who attacked Venu. But no action is taken on those who attacked him on that day. But in turn Venu now has to face Police cases and detentions. We will have to see if TV and Film industry stands behind him lest these kind of moral policing becomes more and more which is detrimental to the entire industry.
