Jake Gyllenhaal looking for the right project to make directorial debut

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who is keen to direct, is searching for a perfect project.

The "Brokeback Mountain" actor is producing “Nightcrawler”, but he also has his sights set on directing a movie.

"I'm searching... but I have yet to feel presumptuous enough. (I'll know when it found it) when my heart lines up with the material... in a visual way,” Gyllenhaal was quoted as saying.

The actor explains he understands the process of filmmaking because his father, Stephen, is a director and his mother, Naomi Foner, is a producer and screenwriter.

"The language I knew was behind the camera. I've always been fascinated by the abrasion of what's in front of the camera and behind the camera,” he added.
