Jeremy Piven joins 'Edge of Tomorrow' cast

London, Aug 17 (IANS) Actor-producer Jeremy Piven will star alongside actor Tom Cruise in the sci-fi film "Edge of Tomorrow".

The 48-year-old has already begun shooting as Colonel Walter Marx for the Warner Bros. film.

Shooting of the film had recently finished, but Piven is a late addition to the cast after director Doug Liman decided to shoot some extra scenes, reports deadline.com.

The movie studio insists they always had plans to shoot new scenes this summer.

"Edge of Tomorrow", which was previously titled "All You Need is Kill", is based on a Japanese science fiction novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. It is based on the story of a soldier who is forced to relive his final day of battle in a war against aliens.
