Jiiva to play cricketer Srikkanth in ‘83'

Tamil actor Jiiva will play cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth in the upcoming film ‘83’, which will talk about the events that led India to win the Cricket World Cup in 1983. This is his maiden film in Hindi as an actor.

Directed by Kabir Khan, actor Ranveer Singh will reprise Kapil Dev, who captained the team India in 1983 World Cup, in the film.

Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Srikkanth was a dashing opener of his time. Jiiva will be shedding 7 kilos for his part in the film and has already started his training under cricketer Chandu Border. The shooting of ‘83’ will be held in London for 100 days.
