Johnny Depp finds the idea of actors turning into musicians 'sickening'

Actor Johnny Depp says he “hates” the idea of actors becoming musicians.

Depp has shown off his musical ability over the years, both on and off the big screen, but the 51-year-old has no plans of ever swapping his acting talent for the music stage.

“The whole idea for me is a sickening thing. It's always just made me sick. I hate the idea, 'Come see me play the guitar because you've seen me in 12 movies'," The Sun newspaper quoted Depp as saying.

Depp has previously joined the likes of Oasis, Marilyn Manson, Keith Richards and Ryan Adams on stage to play guitar, but says he has no plans to forge a serious music career of his own.

“Music is still part of my life... but you won't be hearing 'The Johnny Depp Band'. That won't ever exist,” he added.

The actor returned to the big screen earlier this month when he reunited with director Rob Marshall for musical “Into The Woods”, which is based on the Broadway show by Stephen Sondheim.

Depp last worked with Marshall in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and this is the second Sondheim musical he has starred in. He showed off his singing ability in “Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”.

“Into The Woods” saw Depp take on the role of the Wolf alongside Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Pine. Click the Movie button below for more info:
