Jyothilakshmi and Panchu Arunachalam are no more

It appears to be a sad day for the Tamil film industry. First, it was the news of the demise of dancer, actress Jothilakshmi who breathed her last due to cancer. The actress was reported to be suffering from the disease for a while and finally passed away today, on the 9th of August.

Later in the day, veteran director/lyricist Panchu Arunachalam also left for the heavenly abode. The reasons reported were age related issues. Panchu Arunachalam was the one who introduced music maestro Ilayaraja and had worked with Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in many films.

It sure is a black day for Kollywood which mourns the demise of these veterans. Nowrunning offers its condolences to the bereaved family and prays for the departed souls to rest in peace.
