Kamal clarifies on the recent flood controversy

In the wake of the recent controversy regarding Kamal Haasan’s alleged statement on the government’s functioning, minister Panneerselvam had issued a very strong reply. Reacting to this, Kamal issued a press statement which is as follows:

“What is being circulated around as my interview to media, is actually an email to my North Indian press friend which has been distorted. I am someone who believes in delivering my duties at all situations. I have never questioned the government about my taxes. My email was only a lament about the situation in Chennai and the flood affected parts and the people.

I would not have reacted to Panneerselvam’s statement but I realize that it has caused a confusion among many people which is hampering in the current activities that are trying to bring back the city to its normalcy. I don’t want this to happen. My fan clubs are actively taking part in the welfare activities of people for the past 36 years irrespective of whichever party is ruling and it would be the same in future too”.
