Kamal's Uttama Villain lands itself in trouble

Apr 7, 2015 JB

Whenever Kamal makes his film, it does not fail to get itself in trouble. Over the years it has become a trend of sorts. The latest to fall in this line is Uttama Villain directed by Ramesh Arvind starring Kamal Haasan, Jairam, Oorvashi, Andrea, Pooja Kumar along with late director K Balachander

Tamil Nadu wing of Vishva Hindu Parishad has called for a ban on Uttama Villain claiming that the lyrics of a song in the film had derided a conversation between Prahalad and Hiranyakashipu and this hurt the feelings of Hindus. They condemned Kamal and demanded the film be banned. The film, scheduled to hit the screens soon, will affect the religious sentiments of Hindu people, the outfit said.

Members of VHP’s Chennai unit approached the office of the commissioner of police on Monday, pressing on the ban with a complaint against the film. VHP members lodged the complaint with officials of the grievance cell of the Commissionerate and have also planned further protests against the filmmakers.
