Kaththi finally to arrive crossing all hurdles

The Kaththi issue seems to drag on and on. The Tamil protestors who claimed that the producers of the film Lyca Productions have close association with Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapakse and hence did not want the logo to figure in any of the posters or in the feature film.


There were discussions yesterday (20th October) between the representatives of Tamizhar Vaazhvurimai Katchi and theatre owners association. It was said that Ayngaran International met the demands of protest group and that the film would release on Diwali day but the bookings will begin only today.


However, around midnight, a group of around 30 people had vandalized Sathyam theatres and Woodlands theatre in Royapettah and had broken glass panes and created quite a bit of damage. Banners of Kaththi were also torn and thrown everywhere. Amidst this, Vijay had issued a press statement saying that the Lyca logo will be removed from all promotional material and also thanked the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha and the police personnel for their support in this issue.
