Keerthy Suresh in Savitri biopic

Veteran actress Savitri was a favorite artist in the south Indian film industry. She was married to Gemini Ganesan and had acted with him in many films. Now the life story of this talented performer will be made into a film which will be directed by Nag Ashwin who is famed for his film Yevade Subramanyam.

This film will have Keerthy Suresh reprising the role of Savitri in the film. Keerthy ever since her debut, is fortunate enough to get good projects with top heroes such as Bairavaa with Vijay, Thaana Serndha Koottam with Suriya in Tamil. She is also said to have bagged Lingusamy’s Sandakozhi 2. She is also a known name in Telugu with her first film Nenu Sailaja fetching her good name.

Savitri biopic is titled Mahanati and will be bankrolled by daughters of producer Ashwini Dutt. It was earlier said that Samantha will play Savitri’s role but now it is said that the character of Samantha will move the story forward. This will be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
