Kolaiyuthir Kalam inspired from Hush?

Chakri Toleti who directed Unnai Pol Oruvan and Billa 2 announced that he would be directing Nayanthara for a film titled Kolaiyuthir Kalam which is incidentally the first production venture of music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja along with Vashu Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh.

This is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and now sources claim that the film is based on Mike Flanagan’s English invasion thriller Hush. It may not be an official remake but the plot is claimed to loosely revolve around it. Hush deals with the story of a differently-abled author, who fights to complete the novel when she falls prey to a psycho-killer.

It is also reported that Nayanthara wouldn’t be seen playing the role of the author but may have challenging stunt sequences for the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan heroine. The shooting will begin in the second week of January. It is alright if a film takes the inspiration from an outside source but it would be better if the makers credit the inspiration.
