Krishna files for divorce

Krishna who is known for his films like Kazhugu and Yamirukka Bayamey and is the younger brother of director Vishnuvardhan and son of producer Pattiyal Sekar, has filed for divorce in Chennai city court alleging physical and mental abuse from his wife Hemalatha.

Krishna married Hemalatha last year in February and as per his petition, he has been having a tough time with his wife but all the same trying his best to make his marriage work.

His petition said, “Hemalatha did not perform her duties as a dutiful wife, picked quarrels at the slightest instance and made life miserable for him”. He added that because of her "suspicious nature" and "recalcitrant attitude," he was unable to concentrate on his profession. Further, she is also said to have unrealistic expectations. When he was unable to live up to her expectations, she tortured him. Krishna also says that on a few occasions, Hemalatha inflicted injuries on herself and blamed Krishna. He endured the torture silently for 14 months to make the marriage work but of no avail.
