Lizzy Caplan to star as female lead in 'Now You See Me 2'

Lizzy Caplan is in talks for the female lead in Now You See Me 2.

She joins Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Mark Ruffalo, who are all returning from the first film, and Daniel Radcliffe, who recently signed on as Caine’s son.

Details on Caplan’s role are being kept under wraps, but it’ll be a big one — TheWrap describes it as “the new female lead.” That is, assuming she can close the deal.

Jon M. Chu is directing the sequel to the surprise 2013 hit. Ed Solomon returned to pen the script with Pete Chiarelli. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Bobby Cohen are producing. Lionsgate/Summit will release the film on June 10, 2016.

Caplan will next be seen opposite Seth Rogen and James Franco in the Sony comedy The Interview, which opens Dec. 25. Click the Movie button below for more info:
