Maari 2 begins

Director Balaji Mohan after impressing the audiences with his Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum attempted a commercial genre for his 3rd film, which is Maari that featured Dhanush, Kajal Aggarwal and Robo Shankar. The film had a lackluster response but Anirudh’s musical tracks pulled the audience to the theatre.

Balaji Mohan and Dhanush had announced that they will be doing the sequel of the film but both of them got busy with their respective commitments. Last night, director Balaji Mohan tweeted, “With ur blessings & continuous love for #Maari starting work on #Maari2! dhanushkraja#2YearsOfMaari@WunderbarFilms_ @vinod_wunderbar”.

His tweet was accompanied by a picture that had the script with Draft 4 written along with God’s photograph with the necessary Pooja setup. Balaji Mohan is fresh from the success of his webseries As I am suffering from Kaadhal and Dhanush is awaiting his Velaiyilla Pattadhari 2, next week on the 28th July.
