Shamna Kasim in and as 'Poomathai Ponnamma'

Shamna Kasim will play the title character in ‘Poomathai Ponnamma’ directed by debutante Rajesh Vallil. The story is penned by ‘Palerimanickyam’ fame T P Rajeevan.

‘Poomathai Ponnamma’ tells the story of a bold woman who fights against all odds to have a dignified life in a male dominated society. The rustic life and the socio-cultural aspects that prevailed in Malabar before the colonial rule are being portrayed in this movie.

Actor Suresh Gopi’s brother Sunil Gopi is making his debut through this film. The movie is produced by Shameer Manattila. The locations include Kozhikode and Karnataka.
