Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman and Vairamuthu start work

When there is Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman and Vairamuthu in a project, the expectations are bound to soar and the project gets all the attention. The trio is once again teaming up for Mani Ratnam’s next which has an ensemble cast of Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Jyothika, Arvind Swami, Simbu and Aishwarya Rajesh. The project is bankrolled by Madras Talkies.

As per reports coming in, composing for the film has begun in Goa a couple of days ago. A R Rahman and Mani Ratnam have been collaborating since Roja in 1992. It is their 25th year together. The team will begin shooting for the film in January 2018 and is expected to release in summer. Vairamuthu is penning the lyrics.

The trio’s last collaboration was Kaatru Veliyidai that featured Aditi Rao Hydari and Karthi, but did not meet the expectations of the audience, although the songs have been declared hits.
