Mani Ratnam honored

The Karnataka government and Bengaluru International Film Festival have constituted a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from this year onwards. Accordingly, they have chosen ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who has completed 25 years in Indian cinema, for the prestigious award and are honouring him with cash prize of Rs 10 lakhs and a citation at a glittering function.


It has to be recalled that Mani Ratnam started his film career with a Kannada movie Pallavi Anu Pallavi before he ventured into Tamil. The renowned filmmaker has won six National Awards and the Government of India also honored him with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Civilian honor in the country.


Mani Ratnam is currently busy with his multistarrer action drama film ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ starring Arvind Swami, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Prakash Raj, and others.
