Mersal earns the wrath in Bengaluru and also of TN BJP
JB  [ Fri, Oct 20, 2017 ]
Vijay starrer Mersal finally hit the screens on the 18th of October after facing many roadblocks. The film has earned itself a venture that has been fairly well made with a message.

Apparently Vijay, in the film, talks against the government's GST. Reacting to this, Dr Tamilisai Sounderrajan of BJP said, "I have not seen the film. But, people who saw the film were offended by the incorrect statements on GST and digital payments, which are policy decisions taken by the Union government, after a lot of study. Celebrities should not be making incorrect statements passingly. That will lead to people misinterpreting the whole exercise".

Meanwhile, in the neighboring Karnataka, it was reported that members of Kannada Rakshana Vedike stopped the screening of the film as there was a minor scuffle between Vijay's fans and their members. But it looks like the issue was sorted out later and the film continued its screening in other theatres.
