Milind Soman to play Manekshaw in ‘Emergency'

Actor and model Milind Soman will be playing Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in actor-director Kangana Ranaut's upcoming period drama ‘Emergency’.

The film is written and directed by Kangana, who will also play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.

The Emergency was imposed by Indira for a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977. Manekshaw was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, and the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal.
