‘Moothon' inaugural film at Mumbai Film Fest

Nivin Pauly-starrer ‘Moothon’ has been selected as the inaugural film at the Mumbai Film Festival 2019, which commences on October 18. Nivin took to his Twitter account and announced it on Thursday.


“Happy to inform you all that #Moothon will be the opening film at the prestigious


@MumbaiFilmFest! The movie will be screened on Friday, October 18 at PVR ICON in Infinity Mall, Versova - Mumbai. See you all tomorrow!,” he tweeted.



Co-written and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film had its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Apart from Nivin, the film also has debutant Melissa Raju Thomas, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shashank Arora and Roshan Mathew in key roles.


The film is about a 14-year-old boy, Mulla, who comes from Lakshadweep to Mumbai in search of his elder brother, Akbar.


The film was shot in Lakshwadeep and Mumbai's red-light district of Kamathipura.
