Aagadu Telugu Movie

Aagadu does not have the content to keep it on par with Dookudu in the same combination. The biggest plus of the film is Mahesh himself and with some comedy worked out here and there. Finally, though disappointing, Aagadu can be a one time watch and not any more. Given the high budget and record prices quoted, We will have to see where it goes commercially!

Coming in to the story, Shankar (Mahesh Babu) is an orphan groomed by Raja Rao (Rajendra Prasad). But Raja Rao mistakes Shankar on one occasion and drives him out of the house. Shankar later becomes Encounter Specialist Shankar and gets posted in Bukkapatnam where the atrocities of Damodar (Sonu Sood) is skyrocketing. Damodar wants to build a power project there and goes on elimination spree on those opposing it. Shankar later comes to know about a shocking truth which turns professional rivalry in to personal too. What happens next is the rest of the story.

Mahesh Babu is improving as an actor for every movie. He has carried out the role with tremendous ease and excellent comedy timing. He is entirely natural and walks through the character effortlessly indicating why he is one of the best 'actors' in the current generation. His dialogue delivery in various slangs will enthrall the masses for sure. Tamannah has very little to do and is confined to one very hilarious scene 'Saroja Sweets Ads' and songs. Shruti Hassan set the screen on fire with her oomph in 'Nee Junction' song.

Brahmanandham is fully utilized as every Srinu Vaitla's film. His dance performance scene (even though in CG) has got extraordinary response in the theater. Rajendra Prasad is totally under utilized. Comedians like Raghu Babu, MS Narayana, Prabhas Seenu, Vennela Kishore are okay.

This is Srinu Vaitla's first outing after his tussle with his success combination - Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan. He seem to have that fire in him to prove that he is the whole and sole reason for his successes. He is partially success and partially failure. The comedy is too good in parts but the story and screenplay somehow very much resembled to films like Gabbar Singh, Dookudu and Baadshah. The dialogues have the punch but many of them are like gone before you get to understand them. Meelo Evaru Potugadu, Saroja Sweets Ads and Brahmi's hilarious dance sequences are the stand out comedy sequences.

The album delivered by Thaman is not up to the standards of the film. Back ground score is a big let down except in one or two scenes. Aaja Saroja, Bhelpuri and Nee Junction songs are neatly shot. Guhan's camera work is too good and Editing by MR Verma has many flaws. Production Values of 14 Reels Entertainment are top notch.

Aagadu does not have the content to keep it on par with Dookudu in the same combination. The biggest plus of the film is Mahesh himself and with some comedy worked out here and there. Finally, though disappointing, Aagadu can be at most a one time watch and not anything more. Given the high budget and record prices quoted, We will have to see where it goes commercially!
