The road to cinematic achievement is lined with films that made it to the interval mark and then were ruined by their own contrivances. Traffic is a case study in what not to do with your story after the half-way post.If Team Traffic had understood that, this could have been a great film. As things stand, it is an uneven, unsatisfying ride.

The 105-minute Traffic plays out like a thriller, with each second that elapses invoking the ticking of a real clock. Traffic is entirely content-driven. Its gallery of principal characters, each of whom has reason to seek redemption, are etched out with care and empathy.Traffic, both the original and its Hindi version, will forever bear testimony to the magnitude of the loss that Pillai's untimely death represents for cinema.This is a fitting swan song: an unmissable film.

Traffic does not preach or boast but it touches hearts. Watch it for the emotional connect, and of course, the wonderful performances.victory of determination and goodwill over human insecurities. It is a rare gripping thriller in Bollywood that also touches the right emotional chords.

For a film which largely unfolds in real time, Traffic lacks direction and pace. That's because too much time is spent in establishing the back stories and motivations of the ensemble cast and then resolving their many issues. It comes to at the cost of deviating from the significant mission itself. The twist that arrives in second half is hardly a surprise. Only Bajpayee performs his part well, with the rest not having much to do.
