Subrahmanyam (Sai Dharam Tej) is a fun loving guy who turns selfish due to his family problems. He comes to USA in dollars hint and meets Seetha (Regina) there. She is the daughter of Suman Talwar who wants to marry her to a relative against her will. She elopes to USA to marry her boyfriend. However the match gets cancelled and she brings Subrahmanyam to her house posing as her husband. While Subrahmanyam tries to solve her problems, more issues come after them. What are those? How he encounters them and later win Seetha's hand forms the crux of the story.

Sai Dharam Tej has got himself a tag 'Supreme Hero' in this movie but the question is if he really earned it. The actor had come up with an energetic performance and at times we can clearly see through him mimicing Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. Barring some loud imitations, he is okay in such scenes but the real issue is with his emotions in dramatic sequences in which he is par below. Regina has got a role with substance which needs her to look pretty as well as tough. She managed it fine. She really looked very pretty in 'Naalo Em Jarigindo' song. Tejaswini looked just about okay. Suman Talwar and Naga Babu have come with decent performances. Rao Ramesh's role looked like an extension to his role in SVSC with a pinch of vindictive emotions. Adah Sharma's role is badly written and her performace is mediocre in her extended cameo. Fish venkat and Brahmanandam managed few laughs in their limited roles. Ajay is wasted in a short role.

Subrahmanyam for Sale plot is inspired from many successful films like Brundavanam, Parugu, Yamadonga, Bavagaru Bagunnara, MIrapakaay etc. Harish Shankar tried to make a family entertainer but still clinging on to his trade mark commercial elements. Thats the reason why see two different shades in Sai Dharam Tej's role. Once we see him over top and in the next immediate scene we see him completely matured. Ramesh Reddy and Satish Vegesna worked on the script and they could not avoid the similarities with Brundavanam. The movie at times be seen as Harish Shankar's shortcut to success by making a khichidi of successful films after his previous disaster. The different emotional climax turned unintentionally hilarious.

Mickey J.Meyer has come up with a decent sound track and good background score. Choregraphy worked out in couple of songs. Some of the dialogues like "Abbadaniki Thodu Kavali, Nijaki Needa Kuda AVasaram Ledu", "Nenu Dabbu kosam Deegipotha Deegijariponu", Paruvu Gurinchi Alochinchani Pilla eppudain Baruve, "Bottle Moyyali annipinche Baruvu, Mandhu thaagali anipinche baadyatha" etc worked out well. C Ram Prasad's cinematography enhanced the beauty of the song while Editing by Gautham Raju could have been better.

Harish Shankar indulged in the safest way to score commercial hit - Hire a decent star. Stuff the film with routine mass masala elements like over the top character for the hero. forced comedy, punch dialogues, few fights and few good songs. This formula works most of the time and it worked for Subrahmanyam for Sale as well. It works for some but people who looks for something different will be very much disappointed. This old wine in new bottle at best can be a one time watch if you are looking for such commercial film.
