VSOP is a delectable mixture of all the previous films of Rajesh. You are bound to see the shades of Siva Manasula Sakthi, Boss Engira Baskaran and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi in the screenplay. But the jokes and gag-lines are abundant here and only few of them fall flat while the rest offers unlimited laughter.

Rajesh, who made an appallingly boring All In All Azhagu Raja, has made a terrific comeback in Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga. He is in fine form and has delivered a rib-tickling entertainer aided by the splendid onscreen combo Santhanam and Arya.

It is interesting and heartening to see a lead actor like Arya let his supporting actor, Santhanam in this case, to hog the limelight. Very rarely do we see an actor like Santhanam used to his full potential. Even in some of his best films, heroes always have an upper hand with respect to delivering counter dialogues. And, the hero-dominated jokes as a counter response to Santhanam's hilarious timing jests have always turned out to be pathetically misfit and blunt. I think that's what makes VSOP a much better film and Rajesh, a matured film-maker who knows the pulse of his audiences. Arya deserves special mention for taking a back seat despite being the hero and producer of the film and letting Santhanam fire up the screen with his impeccable one-liners and screaming body language.

Vasu (Santhanam) and Saravanan (Arya) lead a happy life as youngsters. They are entrepreneurs too and own a mobile shop named 'Vasa Mobiles'. When everything goes well in their life, Vasu ties the knot with Seema (played by Tamirabharani fame Bhanu) and all hell breaks loose there onwards. Vasu and Saravanan share a mind-bogglingly close bond such that Saravanan should approve Seema by conducting a quiz to see whether she is eligible for Vasu. The amount of ludicrousness one can dig in this story is equal to infinity. After marriage, Seema instructs Vasu to abandon his friend forever to bed her. Will Vasu break his years-long friendship for his wife?

In comes Aishwarya Balakrishnan (Tamannah), who delivers a cracking performance by the way, who will soon fall in love with Saravanan. How? Santhanam answers this question wisely in the film, if you may watch.
