Mobile phones in Chennai keep disappearing because of an Unknown Evil Force and a team of scientists confirm that it can be tackled only with Chitti the Robot. Vaseegaran (Rajini) brings back Chitti and the rest of the story is about what this Evil Force is all about and how Chitti fights it to save the people.

Rajinikanth stands out in four different roles even though it is evident that age has been taking a toll on him. In some sequences, Rajanikanth is replaced by Super or VFX. Akshay Kumar shines as the antagonist but he is complete le files with the makeup. Amy Jackson and others have limited roles to play with and are adequate.

Shankar usually chooses subjects with strong social backdrops and fill them with emotions. 2.0 is low on emotions with complete focus on VFX which will enthrall the audience to the fullest. AR Rahman's Background score is Decent and the film's script does not allow it to to have regular song and dance numbers. Cinematography by Nirav Shah has been Good. Editing by Anthony is Adequate. The Action Part is Pretty Good and is a Huge plus.

2.0 is a Unique Science Fiction Entertainer which turns interesting as the movie progress. The film's first Half is ordinary but the 2nd half is excellent with the confrontation between Chitti and the Bird Man. The climax is excellent. Spectacular Visuals, Grand Making, Top Quality VFX coupled with Loads of Star Power make this worth a watch despite its not so great story. More run-time and prominence for Chitti 2.0 would have made this more appealing.
