Speedunnodu Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2016 | UA | Action, Comedy
Critics:
Speedunnodu is a routine beaten to death mass masala. Calling it as a product to masses is also being not kind to that segment. Bellamkonda Srinivas should come up with better subjects to make an impression on audience.

Shobhan (Srinivas) is a happy go lucky college student. He has a gang of five friends and Shoban does anything for them. Three of them love the same girl, Vasanthi (Sonarika) and request him for help. Thats how Shoban goes to faction ridden village, Venkatapuram. However, Vasanthi falls in love with Shobhan. Things get further complicated when Shobhan and Vasanthi's parents turning to be rivals. What happens further in their love story is the rest.

Srinivas slightly improved a bit from his first film but is still a long way to go in diction and expressions. However his dances and fights are too good. Sonarika scorched the screens in the songs but is ordinary in action. At some places, her makeup looked terrible. Tamannah's ooph is a treat in Bachelor Baboo song. Madhunandan, Srinivas Reddy and Prithvi managed few laughs here and there. Shakalaka Shankar is a surprise while Rao Ramesh and Prakash Raj are good as always as rivals and fathers of the lead roles. Kabir Duhan Singh is good as a baddie. Rest all are okay.

Sundarapandian is not a film that can be remade. Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao made his first mistake there. The story around friendship, love and village rivalry was seen in several films in the past two decades. Further there is no attempt by the director to establish those emotions strongly. Masses may find solace with some comedy here and there, fights, dances and Tamannah's item song.

Even though the tunes are not great, songs worked out due to dances and picturizations. But placement is terribly wrong. DJ Vasanth's back ground score is okay. Camera work is fine with some locations of Anantapur very authentic. Editing is poor while Production values are fine.

Finally, Speedunnodu is a routine beaten to death mass masala. Calling it as a product to masses is also being not kind to that segment. Bellamkonda Srinivas should come up with better subjects to make an impression on audience.
