മെക്സിക്കൻ അപാരത -- ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രചാരണ ആയുധം മലയാള സിനിമ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ഇന്നേ വരെ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ നല്ലൊരു ശതമാനവും ഇടതു പക്ഷ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെ പൂർണമായും അനുകൂലിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിൽ മെനഞ്ഞെടുത്തവയാണ്. കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ് പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ അപചയങ്ങൾക്കതിരെ വിരൽ ചൂണ്ടുന്ന ലാൽ സലാം ,ലെഫ്റ് റൈറ്റ് ലെഫ്റ് പോലുള്ള ചുരുക്കം ചില ചിത്രങ്ങൾ മാറ്റി നിർത്തിയാൽ ഒട്ടു മിക്ക പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലും ഇടതു പക്ഷ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെ മഹത്വവൽക്കരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവണതയാണ് കൂടുതലും കാണാൻ സാധിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് . നവഗാതനായ ടോം ഇമ്മട്ടി കലാലയ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ ഒരുക്കിയ കാമ്പസ് രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചിത്രമായ ഒരു മെക്സിക്കൻ അപാരതയിലും സ്ഥിതി മറ്റൊന്നല്ല . ഇടതു പക്ഷ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി സംഘടനയായ എസ് എഫ് ഐ യെ എസ് എഫ് കെ യായും , കോൺഗ്രസ് അനുബന്ധ സംഘടനയായ കെ എസ് യു വിനെ കെ എസ് ക്യൂ ആയും നാമകരണം ചെയ്ത ചിത്രത്തിൽ തൊണ്ണൂറുകളിലെ മഹാരാജാസ് കോളേജ് ക്യാമ്പസ് പശ്ചാത്തലത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കിയാണ് കഥ പറയുന്നത് . ചിത്രത്തിൽ കാണാൻ സാധിച്ച സംഭവ പരമ്പരകൾ ശരിക്കും നടന്നതാണോ അതോ കെട്ടി ചമച്ചതാണോ എന്ന സംശയത്തെ തൽകാലം മാറ്റി വെയ്ക്കാം .അതെന്തുമാകട്ടെ നല്ലൊരു സിനിമ നിർമ്മിതിക്ക് വേണ്ടി ചരിത്രത്തെ അൽപ്പം വളച്ചൊടിക്കുന്നതിലും യാതൊരു കുഴപ്പവുമില്ല . റിലീസിങ്ങിന് മുമ്പ് ഓൺലൈൻ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ വഴി നടത്തിയ വമ്പിച്ച പ്രചാരണ പരിപാടികൾ കാരണം മിക്ക തീയറ്ററുകളിലും മെക്സിക്കൻ വേവ് സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ ചിത്രത്തിന് സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണെണ്ടകിലും പേരിലെ അപാരത മാറ്റി നിർത്തിയാൽ ഒരു സിനിമ എന്ന നിലയിൽ ശരാശരിക്കും താഴെ നിൽക്കുന്ന ഒരു ക്യാമ്പസ് ചിത്രം മാത്രമാകുകയാണ് മെക്സിക്കൻ അപാരത. രാഷ്ട്രീയ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള ചിത്രമൊരുക്കുമ്പോൾ ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്ന പ്രാഥമിക ഗൃഹപാഠമോ നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങളോ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ ഇടതു പക്ഷ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സംഘടനയെ മഹത്വ വൽക്കരിക്കുക എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശ്യം മാത്രം മുന്നിൽ കണ്ടു കെട്ടി ചമച്ച വികല സൃഷ്ടിയാണ് മെക്സിക്കൻ അപാരത. ചിത്രത്തിൽ അങ്ങിങ്ങായി ഇൻക്വിലാബ് സിന്ദാബാദ് വിളിക്കുന്നതും ചെഗുവേരയെ പറ്റിയുള്ള പരാമർശങ്ങളുമെല്ലാം തീവ്ര ഇടതുപക്ഷ ചിന്താഗതിക്കാരെ ആവേശം കൊള്ളിക്കുമെങ്കിലും നല്ല സിനിമ പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചു പോകുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകരെ തീർത്തും നിരാശപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് മെക്സിക്കൻ അപാരത ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത് സാമാന്യം ഭേദപ്പെട്ട രീതിയിലാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കം .എഴുപതുകളിലെ ക്യാംപസ് സമരനായകനായി ടോവിനോ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്ന ആദ്യ നിമിഷങ്ങൾ പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ആവേശം കൊള്ളിക്കുന്നു . പക്ഷെ തുടർന്നങ്ങോട്ട് മുന്നോട്ടുള്ള പ്രയാണത്തിൽ മുറുക്കം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ പല ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലും ചിത്രം വിരസതയിലേക്കു കൂപ്പു കുത്തുന്നു . ഒരു ത്രില്ലർ എന്ന ലേബലിൽ ഇറക്കിയ ചിത്രത്തിൽ ത്രിൽ അടിക്കാനുള്ള രംഗങ്ങളോ നാടകീയത നിറഞ്ഞ നിമിഷങ്ങളോ ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഇല്ല എന്ന് തന്നെ പറയാം .തുടക്ക ഘട്ടങ്ങളിൽ റൊമാന്റിക് ഹീറോ ആയി പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്ന ടോവിനോയുടെ പോൾ എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെ ഒരു സുപ്രഭാതത്തിൽ വിപ്ലവ നായകനാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നത് പോലുള്ള നിരവധി സംഗതികൾ കഥയെഴുത്തിന്റെ ദുര്ബലത വ്യക്തമാക്കുമ്പോൾ പ്രതിനായക കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച രൂപേഷ് പീതാംബരന്റെ പ്രകടനം മാത്രമാണ് എടുത്തു പറയാവുന്നതായി തോന്നിയത് . തലപ്പാവ് സിനിമയിൽ കണ്ട ലാലും പൃത്വിരാജ്ഉം തമ്മിലുള്ള ഫാൻറസി റിലേഷൻ പോലൊന്ന് രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയെടുക്കാൻ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലും സാധ്യതയുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും അത്തരം ചിന്താഗതികളൊന്നും കഥയെഴുത്തുകാരനെ സ്പർശിച്ചതേ ഇല്ല ഓൺലൈൻ മീഡിയസിൽ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രചാരകർ കൊടുത്ത വമ്പിച്ച ഹൈപ്പ് ചിത്രത്തെ സാമ്പത്തികമായി രക്ഷിച്ചേക്കാം .പക്ഷെ നല്ല സിനിമയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകർ ഇത്തരം വികല സൃഷ്ടികൾക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥാനം ചവറ്റു കുട്ടയിൽ തന്നെ.

OMA can be easily termed as malayalam’s first perfect ‘paid film’ (just like some paid news)). it is not a true political movie, but just a political propaganda movie- an extremely stretched out version of a political ad film. It lacks most of the qualities of a good movie..it is totally biased and just made to cheer up a few prejudiced people and disappoints a true movie lover. OMA is hollow, predictable, confusing at some places and even lacks thrills. not for family n true campusfilm lovers
