Pelli Choopulu makes a good impression which several small budget films are missing these days. The movie can not be termed great but is fairly good for a small film. Good promotions will push the film further in to the audience and can make it a success at the box office.

Prashanth (Vijay Devarakonda) and Chitra (Ritu Varma) are two exactly opposite characters. Prashanth is lazy bum who has no ambition in life and always tries to live on other's pockets. Chitra is straight forward and dreams of being an achiever. They meet in a Pelli Choopulu and the rest of the story is how they bring about a change in each other's life and then get together.

Vijaya Devarakonda is the one who played the Doodh Kashi guy in Yevade Subrahmanyam and in this film, is a very good transformation in his looks, even though the roles have a similarity. He tries to be himself for the most of the film and then he appeared fit for the role but when he tried to 'act', it looked awkward. Over all, he did a good work in the role of a lazy bum. Ritu Varma is the asset for the film with her amazing screen presence as a straight forward girl. In several scenes, she even dominated Vijay. Nandu is okay in the little role and Kaushik who is seen in a friend role is also good. Anish Kuruvilla is seen in a little role and is okay. Gururaj Manepalli gets a meaty role after a long time and he is good as well. Rest of them are okay despite their inexperience creeping in on some occasions.

Tharun Bhascker is a known face with a blockbuster short film and he carried his good work on to cinema as well. The movie has got a pretty straight forward line which was attempted several times in the past. But the director managed to bring in the difference with treatment, screenplay and good performances. We find the first half a bit slow as the story is not unfolding much with a promising interval. The second half is pretty good with subtle emotions and good comedy.

Vivek Sagar's music is okay but some thing more would have done wonders to the film. But then it still compliments the mood of the film. Cinematography brings in that rich feel to the movie while editing is good. Dialogues are well written with good humour touch. Production Values are okay to the film budget.

Finally, Pelli Choopulu makes a good impression which several small budget films are missing these days. The movie can not be termed great but is fairly good for a small film. Good promotions will push the film further in to the audience and can make it a success at the box office.
