As an action thriller "Aadhi" pants heavily in its effort to cruise towards the finishing line. The mediocre screenplay is eclipsed by action choreography.

PR says Pranav Mohan Lal has not used a body double to do the stunts in Aadhi. Its all breakneck action, with the simple story of an innocent man on the run. Its really enjoyable.

What's more, for the most part, its the parkour action and Pranav's shy persona that make us relate to his titular character. Its not star pandering but skill selling. For once, the PR overcompensates itself by selling the obvious. In the process of watching it, we realize there is more to parkour and less to superstar Pranav Mohanlal. Its such an understated performance that deserves more accolades. Jeethu Joseph's writing still betters his direction. His ensemble cast is top notch. There are characters in this film that breathes life into cinema.

'Adi' is an action packed spine-chilling drama which will keep you breathless at the edge of your seats. The highlight of the movie is that Pranav does most of the action himself without the help of a dupe and he has done it excellently. He has to be given a big clap for his determination to take up the risk. Jithu Joseph has brought in family elements into the story so that it may not look barren as a Hollywood action movie. All actors have done their roles well. A good one time watch.   Aadhi User Rating

A decent thriller story, mediocre screen play and overdose of stunt scenes by spoilt this movie. If it was some funny weaponry that chased the dad in Pulimurugan, it is non stop runnning by the (same?) stunt crew in this movie.

As for Pranav Mohanlal, absolutely no emotions on his face. Probably the worst debutant actor in Malayalam in so many years. No match to actor sons (of movie stars or directors) like Fahad Fazil, Dulquer Salman or even the mediocre Kalidas. Very disappointed.
